How we handle your personal information.
This notice explains what personal information we collect when you request an assessment or contact us, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. It is written to align with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Who is responsible for your information
The responsible party for the information described in this notice is Renewable Energy Africa Group (Pty) Ltd, trading as Home Convenience. Contact details for privacy queries appear at the end of this notice.
What we collect
When you submit the assessment request form we collect the information you provide: your name and surname, estate, province, phone number, email address, property value band, monthly utility spend band, and the requirements you describe. We also collect basic technical information generated by your visit, such as the pages requested, for security and reliability purposes.
Why we collect it
To respond to your assessment request, to prepare and present a solution appropriate to your property, to communicate with you about your enquiry, and to meet our legal and compliance obligations. We do not use your information for any purpose incompatible with these.
Who we share it with
Your information is accessible to the people within our organisation who need it to respond to your enquiry. Where we engage service providers to support that process, they act under our instruction and are required to protect the information in line with POPIA. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law or by our record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion of it, object to processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, disclosure and misuse, and we review those measures as our systems change.
